Language acquisition is an everyday activity — an amazing feat of early childhood that is often taken for granted. We know that a child through observation will learn their native language within their first or second year of life. Yet in the same time that a monolingual child learns one language, bilingual children learn two or sometimes more languages and become adept at using them in socially diverse and appropriate ways.
Our world is shrinking. Each day through technology, and modern systems of transportation, the nations of the world are being brought closer together. At the same time our own country welcomes and encourages socially diverse cultures like never before.
How can a person succeed in this ever shrinking world if they do not fully understand it? By learning a second language, your child will not only be able to understand other forms of speech, but they will be able to better understand other forms of culture and thought.
By giving your child the gift of language, you are giving them a head start in the world. And the best part about it—they think it’s just fun and games! At Language Sprout Learning Center we take care to teach language skills in an atmosphere that invites children to come on in and play! Through interactions with real world objects in activities guided by the teacher, children gain amazing language skills with almost no effort.
